Are you a diligent facilities professional willing to work as a part of a dynamic facilities organization? We are currently seeking a Senior Facility Manager for our Columbia, MD location. The Senior Facility Manager is looked upon to ensure that the facilities are operated in an efficient and orderly fashion. This position is responsible for meeting the National Capital Region Facilities Director’s objectives. Prominence is placed on perpetuating a positive relationship with customers, providing a well-maintained and safe working environment, and on managing well-organized maintenance programs geared to conserving and enhancing the value of the facility. The Senior Facility Manager designs, plans and manages all aspects of the facilities function of owned and leased properties which includes but is not limited to maintenance, janitorial, grounds, snow removal, and operations., the Senior Facility Manager plans, budgets and schedules maintenance projects including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for project implementation: inspects projects to ensure conformance with established specifications and to comply with company and/or government regulations assigns personnel to various projects, including preventative or remedial maintenance; responsible for employment, training counseling and motivation of assigned staff at multiple sites; manages and is responsible for shipping and receiving of materials and supplies to include U.S. mail, express mail, courier pick up and delivery. Additional responsibilities include: Review and evaluate the facility's performance on a continuing basis; provide budget plans to management; counsel direct reports as to the execution of programs; Inspect the facility on an on-going basis to determine efficiency and effectiveness of facility personnel.
Education: A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but comparable accomplishments in facilities management will be considered.
Required Skills: The person selected should have a minimum 5-10 years of facilities management experience as both a manager and individual contributor. Specific experience should include project management, lease facilitation, contract administration, cost estimating, and supervising service staff. A self motivated leader with excellent communication skills that is able to manage a diverse and ever changing workload is essential. Additionally, the successful candidate must have a talent for communicating facilities procedures to various audiences including senior executives.
