Associate Director, Facilities Capital Teams The University of Texas Medical Branch Location: Galveston, TX Description:
The University of Texas Medical Branch, home of the Galveston National Laboratory is accepting applications and nominations for the Associate Director of Facilities Capital Teams to assist the Director in the development and management of Facilities systems and in daily departmental operations.
With expansion plans for a new state-of-the-art Specialty Tower, new research facility which will include a vivarium and a new student housing facility the Associate Director of Facilities Capital Teams will assist in the management and coordination of design and construction activities.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
Manages all staff related to construction and design activities, including project managers, construction managers, interior managers, team coordinators, and in-house construction
Confers with UTMB stakeholders and outside agencies to ensure compliance with codes, infection control measures, Joint Commission requirements, etc.
Prepares reports documenting project budget, schedule, and scope
Manages information and data collection for all capital teams and in-house construction activities
Makes decisions concerning personnel staffing, training, promotion, evaluation, and supervision
Recommends potential areas of process improvement to the Director
Analyzes data requirements and data flow and makes recommendations based on that data.
Develops strategic long-range goals and objectives for capital projects
Collects data for local, state and federal auditing purposes
Keeps abreast of new technology and equipment for an academic healthcare facility
Identifies appropriate internal controls for department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance
Performs related duties as required.
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field and seven years of related experience. Registration preferred.
