Princeton University Princeton University seeks a Senior Manager for Housing Development. A
new position, the role requires exceptional project planning and leadership
skills, sophisticated analytical and strategic decision-making capabilities,
and
communication and interpersonal savvy. The Senior Manager will drive the
implementation of several significant changes to faculty, staff and graduate
student housing programs.
The Senior Manager for Housing Development will report to the Director of
Housing with a
dotted line reporting relationship to the General Manager, Office of the Vice
President for
Facilities.
Program Management
The Senior Manager will be responsible for serving as "chief client" for each
Master Plan project
related to graduate, faculty and staff housing. In early project phases, this
may include working
with a diverse set of university clients, ranging from current tenants to the
Dean of the Faculty
to ensure that program goals are met through individual buildings' project
plans. Program
Management responsibliities also include analyzing overall inventory
capacity, cost projections
and other financial analysis, budget management, and knowledge and
application of best
practices related to program management. The Senior Manager will be
responsible for
developing solutions and preparing recommendations and alternative plans
to solve capacity
and project timing issues. Further, s/he will be responsible for serving as a
knowledgeable
resource to stakeholders, updating and maintaining program/project
planning data, and
developing an accessible repository of project information.
Process Management
The Senior Manager will be responsible for engaging in all phases of the
projects and
coordinating with other relevant University departments (e.g., the Office of
Design and
Construction, and the Office of Community and Regional Affairs) to
collaborate on key
decisions, solve problems, and escalate issues when necessary. Process
management further
includes monitoring each project's activities, intervening when necessary to
remove roadblocks,
negotiating solutions, and ensuring approprate progress against schedules,
budgets and scope.
This set of responsibilities will also entail managing consultants'
engagements on projects,
including service provision and budget.
Communications
Considering the complexity, interrelatedness, and sensitivity of the projects,
the Senior Manager
will be responsible for managing communications related to the program as
a whole as well as
individual projects. This will include gathering key information (e.g., focus
groups, surveys,
online tools) from stakeholders; crafting, coordinating and delivering a
marketing and
communications plan for returning and prospective tenants; liaising with
heads of various,
highly?invested constituencies (e.g., the Dean of the Graduate School, the
Dean of Faculty, etc.);
preparing a variety of reports for internal and external stakeholders; acting
as the spokesperson
for the Director of Housing and General Manager, Services; preparing and
delivering
presentations for diverse audiences; and, coordinating community?focused
communication
with the Community Affairs Office.

* Minimum of six (6) years of increasingly responsible professional
experience in roles
relevant to this position;
* Demonstrable understanding of the real estate development process
(e.g.,
financing, design,
approvals, construction, marketing, occupancy planning, etc.) is preferred;
and,
* Bachelor's degree is required; Master's or MBA degree is preferred.
Salary Range: $100K plus excellent benefits and relocation expenses
