The candidate selected for this position will serve as a Project Manager responsible for all aspects of the planning, design and construction or renovation of research facilities and office facilities. The General Engineer/Architect will also serve as the liaison to ensure that resources are used in a manner consistent with the priorities of the overall organizational mission. This entails balancing facility needs, programmatic needs, available funding, manpower, contracting authority, and relative priority considerations among customers. The selected individual will also establish and maintain internal systems to ensure that these factors are properly weighed in the planning, management, and implementation of each project. As necessary, this person will negotiate with senior management and the IC authority to resolve conflicts. The candidate will provide direct supervision and technical support in developing and staffing an architectural and engineering design and construction grant/program.
