Indiana University Bloomington Plans Second Phase of Multidisciplinary Science Facility

BLOOMINGTON, IND. -

Indiana University Bloomington is planning to construct the $4.2 million, 65,000-sf second phase of its Multidisciplinary Science Building project (MSD II). The first phase of the project is now under construction. Both phases of the project at Simon Hall were designed by Flad & Associates of Madison, Wisc. to accommodate research that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries, including neuroscience, biochemistry, and environmental science.

Additionally, Indiana University Bloomington will build a 400,000-gsf student housing and teaching complex. The 783-bed project will consist of nine apartment buildings and a six-story mixed-use commons accommodating lecture halls, conference rooms, administration, lounges, and study rooms. The complex was designed by RATIO Architects of Indianapolis.
