Ohio State University Medical Center dedicated the $1 billion James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus in November of 2014. Designed for the delivery of personalized, genomics-based therapies, the 21-story tower features biomedical labs integrated into inpatient floors to provide true bench-to-bedside translational research and treatment. The hospital provides 14 technology-rich operating rooms, a 15-bed emergency department, and a radiation oncology center with seven vaults. The 276-bed facility is the third largest cancer hospital in the United States and is designated by the National Cancer Institute as a comprehensive cancer center. Ground was broken on the project in June of 2010.
