Banner Thunderbird Medical Center is expanding and remodeling four major departments at its 37-acre Glendale, Ariz., campus. Designed by van Dijk Westlake Reed Leskosky of Phoenix, Ariz., the work includes the fit-out of 12,400 sf of shell space for a new pediatric unit and expanded medical surgical units; the relocation and expansion of the existing 4,800-sf lab into a new 10,500-sf addition; the relocation and expansion of the medical imaging department from 11,000 sf to 17,150 sf; and the remodeling of the emergency department to create an efficient layout improving departmental productivity.
