Ware Malcomb’s Los Angeles office has completed the design of the 2300 Empire Center located at 2300 West Empire Boulevard in Burbank, California. Higgins Development Partners, along with equity partner Walton Street Capital, both of Chicago, Illinois, are developing the project. Construction began on August 20, 2007 on the 7-story, steel-framed Class A office building totaling approximately 363,000 sf. This speculative office building includes 52,000 sf floor plates, an adjacent 1,260 stall parking structure, and additional surface parking on a 6.5 acre site. Ware Malcomb will provide interior design services for the core elements of the building, including the lobby, restrooms, and common areas. The project will seek LEED Silver certification for design, construction and operation. McCormick Construction Company of Burbank, California is serving as the general contactor for the project. Completion is slated for the first quarter of 2009.
