HOUSTON - Rice University celebrated the topping out of the 480,000-sf Collaborative Research Center in Houston on March 28, 2008. Construction began on the $30 million project in December of 2006 and is slated for completion in April of 2009. The ten-story facility will support collaborative medical research with partner institutions including Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital, the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the UT Health Science Center at Houston. The facility will include eight research floors, classrooms, a 280-seat auditorium, a 100-seat seminar room, parking, retail, and dining.
