HEERLEN, THE NETHERLANDS - Medtronic Inc. opened its $32.1-million distribution center in Heerlen, the Netherlands, in early March 2003. The 322,900-sf center, Medtronic's largest distribution facility, will employ 700 workers and will send over 30,000 medical devices worldwide every day. Medtronic, based in Fridley, has its European headquarters in Tolochenaz, Switzerland.
