One facility. 1) Developing new, minimally invasive procedures and technologies. 2) Delivering hands-on robotic training for medical residents, faculty and surgeons from around the world. 3) Providing a location for scientists to work together to stimulate robotic and imaging research. 4) Defining the operating room and interventional procedure room of the future. This is what the new, "Interventional Platform" is accomplishing, and what academic medical centers around the nation are embracing. Here, the presenters draw upon the interventional platforms that are being designed for UCLA, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Rush University Medical Center and they illustrate the impact it is having on treatment, research and medical education.
