Genencor of Palo Alto, Calif.,  will build a 22,000-sf clinical manufacturing facility in Rochester, N.Y., home of the company's global bioproducts business and manufacturing headquarters and a pilot-scale manufacturing plant. The new facility will manufacture human therapeutics. Included in the expansion is a $10-million facility slated to open in 2004 that will produce material for clinical trials. Two additional 20,000-sf buildings are planned for the site in the future.
