Biovet Commissions BSL-4 Vaccine Manufacturing Facility

MALUR, KARNATAKA, INDIA -

Biovet completed the commissioning of its BSL-4 animal vaccine manufacturing facility in Malur, Karnataka, in April of 2008. Constructed to meet current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards for vaccines and biologics, the facility will support the production of vaccines for foot and mouth (FMD) disease and TB vaccines for sheep and goats. The total project cost is Rs 190 crore. The facility is the first of its kind in Asia and the second BSL-4 animal vaccine manufacturing lab worldwide. Copyright 2008 Tradeline Inc.
