SDSU Chemical Sciences Lab Opens

SAN DIEGO -
San Diego State University opened a new $31 million lab and research facility in January 2002. Featuring "smart classroom" technology for multimedia visual presentations, the building houses 57 state-of-the-art chemistry and geology labs and 700 workstations. Completed in July 2001, the 106,000-sf facility contains offices for the Environmental Health and Safety department; faculty offices; an analytical laser spectroscopy lab; a gene expression lab; a reactive chemical intermediates lab; a geophysics remote sensing lab; and a center for immersive telecommunications for global change.
