CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Plantation, Fla.-based delivery and logistics firm DHL will construct a new service center facility at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina. The 80,200-sf facility represents a $6-million investment for facility construction, capital improvements, a ten year lease, and airport-related costs. The new facility is 12,200-sf larger than the total footprint of the four Charlotte sites it will consolidate. The handling capacity of the service center when it becomes fully operational in April 2006 is 15,000 letter and parcel shipments per hour.
