Lucasfilm Develops Letterman Digital Arts Center

Lucasfilm is developing the $300-million Letterman Digital Arts Center at the Presidio in San Francisco . Housing Industrial Light & Magic, LucasArts, and Lucas Online , the 23-acre site will accommodate 865,000 sf of office space in four buildings upon completion, including the renovated Letterman hospital.

 

The campus will include an employee dining facility, a fitness center, a public restaurant, a childcare center, and 17.5 acres of open space. Ground was broken on the project in February 2003; core and shell construction reached completion in December 2003; occupancy is slated for summer of 2005. The project is one of the first to be comprehensively designed by 3-D modeling.
