IFMA Announces Collaborations with ASHE, USGBC, and ENERGY STAR

HOUSTON -

The International Facility Management Association initiated collaborations with three industry associations in October of 2007. IFMA signed a memorandum of understanding with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) as part of a strategic alliance designed to advance the interests of engineering and health care facility professionals. IFMA signed a memorandum of Intent with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to collaborate to promote sustainability, energy efficiency and environmentally responsible building operations. IFMA will work with USGBC as a Greenbuild Top-Tier Partner, a group that recognizes the need for moving the building industry toward a more sustainable design approach. IFMA also joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR program as a Partner, making a fundamental commitment to protect the environment through the promotion of continuous improvement in energy performance to its 19,000 members.
