Arizona State University Develops SkySong Innovation Center

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. -

Arizona State University will break ground on January 20, 2006 on Skysong, formerly known as the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, sited on 37 acres in Scottsdale. The architects of the $300 million project are Pei Cobb Freed of New York and Phoenix-based DMJM, with Sundt Construction as general contractor.

Development partners include The Plaza Cos. of Peoria and Higgins Development Partners of Chicago. The research park will include 1.2 million sf to be constructed over ten years. Phase one will comprise over 300,000 sf and will include retail, office space, a hotel, and a conference center. ASU will occupy 80,000 sf of the first phase with buildings for ASU Technopolis and Arizona Technology Enterprises.
