University of Nevada Nears Completion of Shadow Lane Biomedical Facility

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas’s $5 million renovation of the Shadow Lane Biomedical Facility in Las Vegas is nearing completion. Designed by SmithGroup with McCarthy as general contractor, the project consists of the renovation of an existing 25,000-sf state rehabilitation center to become a 40,000-sf biomedical and biotech education facility housing classrooms, laboratories, and administrative offices for UNLV’s nursing and dental schools. An additional floor was created in the building by pouring a 15,000-sf concrete slab supported by a micropile column system.
