University of Indiana Bloomington to Build Data Center

BLOOMINGTON, IND. -

University of Indiana Bloomington will begin construction in fall of 2007 on a $32 million data center. The "hardened" building will house supercomputing and data storage equipment and provide protection from natural disasters. The facility will be constructed on the former site of the Creative Arts building, demolished in August 2007. A Cyber Infrastructure building housing IT and office facilities will be constructed next to the data center.
