Published February 2003

WASHINGTON -

The District of Columbia Department of Health will distribute $8 million from a federal terrorism response fund to members of the D.C. Hospital Association. Hospitals receiving funding include George Washington University Hospital, which will receive approximately $800,000 to expand the facility's decontamination unit and implement improved biohazard training procedures. Sibley Memorial Hospital is expecting about $600,000 to build a decontamination facility next to its emergency department capable of decontaminating 40 people an hour.
