JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - St. Vincent’s Hospital has expanded its Jacksonville, Fla. emergency department from 12,000-sf to 29,000-sf. Increasing bed count from 30 to 49, the expansion project cost $4 million in construction costs and $900,000 for new equipment. Nineteen exam rooms were added, with six equipped for the needs of patients experiencing chest pain. The project architect was JSA Inc., with engineer Tilden, Lobnitz and Cooper and contractor Auld & White Constructors. The facility opened on September 15, 2003.
