Columbus, OH ? Battelle, a leader in science and technology development and commercialization, has added a cleanroom facility at its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Hodess Building Company (HBC) of North Attleboro, Mass., was the design/builder for this project. The work was conducted without disrupting any of Battelle?s day-to-day operations. Upon completion, the interior fit-up of the basement level area had been converted into 6,500 sf of Class 100-10,000 cleanrooms, office space, mechanical support with high purity process piping.
Battelle is using the newly renovated space to continue its research and development of new technologies for the medical, pharmaceutical, automotive, chemical, and agrochemical industries. In addition, it will use the facility as an incubator for new companies.
HBC contracted design services with the architects, BHDP of Columbus, Ohio, and with Vanderweil Engineers of Boston for the electrical and mechanical design.
