And Ann Arbor, Mich, (July 30, 2002) Zymark Corporation and Genomic Solutions (Nasdaq: GNSL} announced today that they have formed a partnership to offer Zymark’s Twister® II with the Genomic Solutions’ Cartesian Hummingbird™. Hummingbird technology allows parallel dispensing by capillary action for compound plate reformatting or replication in High Throughput Screening laboratories. Dispensing is non-contact and the systems support 96, 384, and 1536 well formats. With an easy-to-use interface, the Twister II will be implemented to automate the plate handling aspect with the Hummingbird.

The Twister II has a 400-plate capacity and is designed to provide interfaces with multiple instruments. Providing excellent CVs for reliable screening results, the Hummingbird has zero dead volume that eliminates compound waste while the non-contact dispense eliminates the worry of sample carryover.
