HCI SYSTEMS NAMED TO ?FAST 50? GROUP OF NEW ENGLAND?S FASTEST-GROWING TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES Kennebunk Software Firm Is The Only Maine Company To Repeat On List
KENNEBUNK, Me., August 14, 2001--For the second straight year, HCI Systems has been named by Deloitte & Touche and Hale and Dorr to the New England Fast 50. The Fast 50 program ranks New England?s fastest-growing technology companies based on revenue growth. The program is co-sponsored by the professional services firm of Deloitte & Touche and the law firm of Hale and Dorr, in association with Mass High Tech, the Journal of New England Technology.
"We are proud to have earned this distinction again after being named to last year?s Fast 50,? says Jim Kavanagh, president of HCI Systems. ?It provides further validation that our capital planning and asset management tools are innovative solutions that consistently meet or exceed the expectations of customers in the facility management and building, engineering and construction industries.?
HCI Systems provides technology-based facility and asset management solutions for government, education, and corporations that control significant value in physical property, buildings, and fixed assets. The company?s Building Blocks? and iPlan? solutions help such organizations effectively plan for and manage their assets, which are typically the second largest recurring expense after human resources. Both systems are designed for use on the Internet or internal networks.
HCI Systems ranked 19th in the 2000 Fast 50 as the lone Maine representative among a majority of Metro-Boston firms. They stand out again this year as one of only eight non-Massachusetts Fast 50 companies.
To qualify for the Fast 50, a company must have been in business a minimum of five years. It must be a technology company, strictly defined as one that develops proprietary technology, which contributes to a significant portion of the company?s operating revenues; manufactures a technology-related product; devotes a high percentage of effort to technology R&D or uses proprietary technology to significantly improve the delivery of technology services. The company must also be headquartered in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, or Maine.
