FRAMEWORK TECHNOLOGIES TACKLES SCHEDULE COMMUNICATION PROBLEM WITH LATEST RELEASE OF ACTIVEPROJECT
Drag-and-Drop Puts Project Schedules On the Web For Viewing, Commenting, and Automatic Change Notification
Burlington, Mass. - August 7, 2000 -Framework Technologies Corporation today announced a new version of its industry-leading project communication software, ActiveProject(r) v 2000 PLUS. The new release makes it significantly easier for project teams to view and discuss project schedules, track schedule changes based on user-specified parameters, and post information against specific milestones. With ActiveProject v2000 PLUS project managers simply drag-and-drop Microsoft Project schedules into their ActiveProject Web site. Instantly, team members everywhere can view, mark-up, and discuss the schedule without local copies of Microsoft Project. ActiveProject handles schedule change notification automatically and allows project team members to publish information against specific milestones, significantly easing the task of presenting and locating task-specific information.
"Meeting project schedules has always been the measure of successful project delivery," says Daniel Slavin, president and chief executive of Framework Technologies Corporation. "Until now, project managers have been challenged to simply share the schedule across the entire team. With ActiveProject v2000 PLUS, the schedule can take its rightful place at the center of a project's activity. Project managers can now spend less time distributing the schedule and more time managing it."
INTEGRATION WITH MICROSOFT PROJECT AND VISIO The major highlight of ActiveProject v2000 PLUS is its ability to create fully collaborative project Web sites around Microsoft Project schedules or Visio diagram in minutes. Users can publish structured data (including schedule hierarchies and multi-sheet diagrams) with a simple drag-and-drop via ActiveProject's SmartXML inbox, creating 'smart' Web pages that can be used to visually navigate project team members to information. ActiveProject has leveraged this technology to produce similar value for CAD files produced with AutoCAD(r), Solidworks(r), and Bentley Microstation(r).
3-D VIEWING AND MARK-UP ActiveProject v2000 PLUS has enhanced viewing and mark-up capabilities for image files. The new release now supports 3-D formats, including ACIS, STEP, IGES, and STL. In the Fall of 2000, Framework Technologies will be delivering support for native 3-D file formats such as PTC Pro/Engineer(r) and Dassault Systemes Catia(r).
PRICING ActiveProject starts at $50,000. For more information, please call (800) 644-1002.
