VFA Unveils GASB Infrastructure Compliance for State and Local Governments
BOSTON--Vanderweil Facility Advisors (VFA) has released the VFA-GASB Infrastructure Compliance Program, which is designed to help state and local governments meet new reporting requirements outline in the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement #34. Governments will be required to supplement their accounting and financial reports with data on the assessed physical condition of facility and infrastructure assets, descriptions of how assessments were measured, and actual expenses for infrastructure maintenance during the past five years. According to company officials, GASB requires state and local governments to provide extensive reporting on data that has not been routinely collected. VFA's Web-based software and methodology enables government entities to report and plan on infrastructure and facility assessments, maintenance, and expenses, as will be required by GASB starting in June 2001.
