Labconco's Purifier Vertical Clean Bench Protects work from particulate contamination
Labconco Corp. of Kansas City, Mo., offers two- and three-foot Purifier Vertical Clean Benches designed for plant tissue culture, media plate preparation, electronics inspection, medical device assembly, and pharmacy drug preparation under ISO Class 5 (formerly Class 100) conditions to prevent airborne contamination. Because the Purifier Clean Bench does not provide user protection, it should not be used in conjunction with biohazardous material, toxins, or radionuclides.
During operation, room air is drawn through a prefilter in the top of the cabinet to trap large particles. Then, the air flows through a 99.99 percent efficient HEPA filter and is projected vertically over the work area. This HEPA-filtered air prevents contaminants from entering the work area and provides a particulate-free work environment that minimizes cross contamination.
Indicator lights monitor differential pressure across the HEPA filter. A green light indicates normal operation; an amber light alerts that service is required. The scratch-resistant front sash and side panels are made of tempered safety glass. The angled front sash tilts up for easy cleaning and pivots down to the operating position of nine inches. Glare-free, fluorescent lighting is located outside the contaminated work area. Light and blower switches are located on the front of the cabinet, within easy reach of the operator.
