Skil-aire Announces New Moving Cooler for Primary or Supplemental Cooling of Computer Rooms External ducting of condenser intake and exhaust provides fixed-unit efficiency and cleanliness
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND-Skil-aire, a division of Tithe Corporation, announces the Moving Cooler--industry's first commercially available portable air conditioning unit that fully isolates the condenser and evaporative air streams to produce a cooler environment while lowering energy costs. Isolating condenser and evaporator air dramatically improves operating efficiency and also ensures positive pressurization so computer rooms stay clean and free from dust.
Specializing in air-conditioning and environmental control systems for twenty years, Skil-aire now offers its Moving Cooler to meet the needs for increased cooling in proliferating computer/server and telecom environments. Costing a fraction of fixed-unit air conditioners to place in service, and available in cooling capacities of 1, 1½, 2, 3½, and 5 tons, Skil-aire's line of Moving Coolers can rapidly supply powerful cooling for backup, emergency, supplementary, or primary cooling purposes for almost any location.
"Today's facilities managers, network administrators and MIS directors need a flexible, but reliable and robust cooling source for their computer and other sensitive-equipment rooms," says Lisa Ambrose, president of Skil-aire. "Our line of Moving Coolers provides them with a portable, yet fully-featured, air conditioning unit that can be quickly deployed where needed--without bursting the budget and dipping into capital asset accounts."
DDDkDirect-drive centrifugal blowers and high external static capabilities ensure maximal air flow through up to 25 feet of flexible ducting that comes with each unit. Integrated digital controls maintain precise temperate control under operating conditions from 60-110* F.
Unique to Skil-aire's line of Moving Coolers, the condensate reservoir includes a powerful pump to transport unwanted condensate to a remote location. Automatic discharge of condensate eliminates the need to manually drain the reservoir and safeguards against automatic shutdown or flooding that occur when manual reservoirs are not emptied in a timely manner.
Housed in a compact but sturdy cabinet of 20 gauge steel, the Moving Cooler rolls upon four to six heavy duty casters, easily maneuvering through standard 30" doors. The sight glass and major service ports are accessible outside the unit, and all controls, the condensate system and other major components lie behind a single locking door--making maintenance a simple process.
Available water-cooled condensers are factory installed with a coaxial counter-flow design that allows low refrigerant operating pressures and a minimum quantity of water. Where necessary, operating water pressures of up to 150 psig are supported, thanks to a factory installed 2-way regulating valve.
With a major warehouse in San Diego, Calif., and authorized business partners throughout the country, Skil-aire can quickly deliver any one of its Moving Coolers to meet the needs of enterprises requiring spot cooling, on a temporary or permanent basis.
