Constructware Selected as Standard Project Management and Collaboration Solution
Alpharetta, Ga., and Omaha, Ne.--June 24, 2004--W. Boyd Jones Construction Co. has selected Constructware as its enterprise-wide standard for project management and collaboration. The action comes after successful deployment of Constructware on a number of projects over the past three years.
Jon Crane, president of W. Boyd Jones Construction Co., Inc., cited three major reasons for taking this step:
Speed. "In today's highly competitive market, it's essential to make timely decisions and to reduce the time spent on paperwork. Constructware allows us to streamline the construction process and provide all project team members, including owner and architect representatives, with accurate and real-time information, at any point during the project."
Accountability. "Constructware allows all team members to see the status of every item related to the project and lets you know who is responsible for resolving each issue. This powerful tracking feature encourages accountability among project team members and keeps all team members focused on the critical path of the project's schedule."
Flexibility. "We can use as many or as few of the modules as we need, based on each project's requirements. This flexibility allows us to use the tool as easily on a small project as on a very large program."
W. Boyd Jones Construction Co. successfully used Constructware on the renovation of Rosenblatt Stadium, home of the College World Series, as well as on a 644,000 sf design/build distribution center and campus for Airlite Plastics, awarded the DBIA Midwest Region Project of the Year for 2001. Current and upcoming projects include Millers Landing, a 27-acre riverfront park for the city of Omaha and a renovation/addition to Columbus High School in Omaha. Boyd Jones will use Constructware on these projects for both internal project controls and for collaboration with owners and members of the project teams.
Says Crane, "Our goal is to be the best, not the biggest. Real-time information management, communication with our project partners, and empowerment of our field workers are paramount. Constructware is a powerful tool to help us achieve our goals."
