Construction Underway of New Medical Office Building for Mease Hospital
October 2001 - Mease Hospital and the building's developer, The Graham Group, have selected Flad & Associates to design a new, 150,000 square foot medical office building for the campus in Safety Harbor, Florida.
Flad is working with the Graham Group to create a 150,000 square foot, four-story medical office building to house approximately 20 outpatient service tenants with 47,000 feet of hospital tenant use. The medical suites range from 1,500 to 22,000 square feet.
This MOB is the first phase of a phased project. Once complete, it will allow Mease to remove an older medical building from their campus and start Phase Two in the late spring of 2002 with an expanded diagnostic and treatment services building. Phase One of the hospital project is a vertical expansion to the hospital, which is being built at this time parallel to the MOB construction and is slated for completion in March 2002.
The facility is scheduled for occupancy in spring 2002.
Mease Hospital has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the "Top 100 Hospitals."
Flad worked with the local community to create a design which controlled both height and setback while blending with the surrounding residential community and the existing hospital palette. The white precast concrete exterior harmonizes with the design of the Mease campus.
Other team members include Affiliated Engineers SE, Inc. (mechanical/electrical engineering); Flad Structural Engineers (structural engineering); and Llovaras Bauer & Stevens (civil engineering).
