AUGUST 2001--Zymark Corporation is pleased to launch Mini-Staccato Workstations, a new breed of small flexible integrated systems providing laboratories the benefits of a scalable automation platform capable of evolving to meet future needs.
The Mini-Staccato begins with a Twister? II and a single workstation such as a reader or microtiter plate sealer. In this assisted workstation configuration, the Twister II acts as an unattended plate server with a large storage capacity providing significant walk-away time for the operator.
?We envision the Mini-Staccato as a laboratory?s automation cornerstone,? says Jean-Louis Ruefner, Zymark vice president of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. ?As application needs expand, another device, such as the Zymark Sciclone? ALH liquid handler can easily be integrated by using CLARA? 2001 integration software. CLARA 2001 is the same easy-to-use integration software used on all Zymark integrated systems and comes packaged with Twister II. There are currently more than sixty common laboratory devices capable of being integrated into a Mini-Staccato system, with many more being added every month.?
"Since CLARA comes packaged with Twister II, the full benefit of Mini-Staccato systems can be realized," says Mark Spector, Ph.D. Zymark business unit manager, Genomics. "As your system grows, CLARA allows the same scheduling capability our Staccato and Allegro? customers benefit from. Its flexibility is designed to fit a wide variety of needs.?
