New Mold and Disease Decon Technology Eliminates Need for Costly Rip and Restore
Sabre Technical Services, was chosen by the US Senate to develop technology to decontaminate the Hart Senate Office Building after it was contaminated during the 2001 anthrax attacks.
Sabre has now converted that technology to save mold or disease (including avian flu) contaminated buildings without having to rip out and restore the interior of the building. Here's how the new technology works: the building is tented, filled with a safe gas (one that is used in 30 percent of the country's drinking water and on much of the food we eat) and within three hours, the building becomes more sterile than a hospital operating room.
Gas reaches behind walls, into ceilings and floors and throughout the HVAC system, killing all mold. The technology also kills all diseases that might contaminate a building (Legionnaires, Avian Flu, salmonella, etc.), which means the building can be restored to full use quickly and inexpensively. Nothing has to be ripped out of the building and the process is often less expensive than "rip and restore." The technology has been used extensively in restoring mold contaminated buildings in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.
