Winter Springs, FL - Barcode Automation, inc., in Winter Springs, Fla., has obtained Underwriters Laboratories Safety Standard 294 access control system certification by ETL for the BA-200 Barcode Reader. It meets rigid UL requirements that apply to the construction, performance, and operation of systems intended to regulate or control entry into an area. The system is designed to meet the access control needs of a high-volume parking lot in any kind of weather.
BAI founder and chief executive Doug Jarrett says, "We are very proud of having achieved the certification. This means that the BA-200 can now be offered in a broader national and international market where the certification is required. Obtaining certification also highlights our commitment to our dealers and customers offering the safest, most reliable and durable vehicle access control unit in the industry."
The BA-200's reputation as a sturdy and flexible product with easy installation has made it the choice by dealers for thousands of gated entry points such as, business, fleet and industry facilities, commuter parking, airports, university campuses, and residential communities across the nation. The Reader is offered as a standalone, which allows direct one-gate control, or interfaces with an existing access control panel via Wiegand 26bit format. The Reader can be directly integrated with a computer security system through an RS232 serial port. All components are encased in a NEMA 4 Standard aluminum housing with interior temperature and humidity control extending the operation of the unit and laser life. An internal transaction log retains the last 2,000 vehicle identification numbers, time and date. It comes from the factory already configured, but can be changed to meet a specific site's need. Also, BAI offers cost-effective retro-reflective decals in 56 color combinations. The BA-200 is an affordable solution compared to costlier RF-ID units without the RF interference.
Barcode Automation is the leading manufacturer of barcode systems for automatic vehicle identification and access control, offering products through a network of dealers and integrators nationwide. The BA-200 system provides the user a highly effective tool for managing right of entry into private or secured areas such as neighborhoods, business, parking lots, airports, hospitals or other sites requiring high standards of vehicle access control.
