Innovative Energy Partners Announces Energy Partnership with Corrections Corporation of America
March 18, 2003 . Cedar Rapids, IA . Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) announced today they have entered into an agreement with Innovative Energy Partners, LLC (IEP) to provide comprehensive energy management services. Through this energy partnership, IEP will manage all aspects of utility bill payment, tracking and analysis of utility data, commodity procurement, and evaluation and implementation of energy infrastructure improvements for all of CCA's facilities located throughout the United States.
With the addition of the CCA energy management relationship, IEP now manages more than $100 million in annual energy expenditures for clients at facilities located in more than 30 states. With a core management team that draws on decades of energy industry experience, and a family of proprietary energy management products and services, IEP has been successful in working directly with each partner to develop a unique package of products and services to maximize its return on energy investment. IEP's core energy products and services have been developed to enable clients to better monitor and control both short-term and long-term energy consumption, and associated costs, on a corporate-wide basis.
Under the newly formed partnership, IEP will be responsible for auditing and paying utility invoices as well as maintaining a comprehensive database of utility cost, consumption, contract, and facility related information. From the database, IEP will target opportunities with the greatest potential for delivering energy cost reductions and efficiency improvements for CCA. Once an opportunity is identified and approved, IEP will be responsible for developing and implementing the opportunity, including the design, development, and construction of utility infrastructure improvements.
According to Rick Sievertsen, founder and president of Innovative Energy Partners, IEP is unique in the energy management industry. "Unlike most energy service providers, IEP is not owned by, or affiliated with any utility, energy supplier, or energy equipment provider. Therefore, we remain both vendor and technology neutral, and focus on providing the very best solution that fits an individual client's requirements, whether those requirements are cost, space, manpower, or technology driven".
Jim Seaton, chief operating officer for CCA, indicates "CCA chose IEP to provide corporate energy management services due to their increased focus on customer satisfaction and their desire to pursue a broad range of opportunities across all our facilities."
