Eagle Technology Releases ProTeus IV for Maintenance Departments New CMMS Tools Help to Lower Costs, Increase Equipment Life, Improve Productivity
MEQUON, WI December 10, 2004—Eagle Technology has introduced its ProTeus IV, the latest generation in CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems) software and the most innovative and flexible CMMS software on the market.
Based on the highly successful ProTeus III line, ProTeus IV provides features, advantages, and benefits not found in other products of this kind. Developed specifically for use in facilities (healthcare, government, and educational institutions) and manufacturing (process plants) ProTeus IV provides bottom line improvements in maintenance efficiency and asset management.
Once in operation, ProTeus IV software will give maintenance departments the tools needed to lower operating costs, reduce downtime, control maintenance expenses, increase asset life, reduce stock outages, and improve productivity. This software integrates preventative maintenance scheduling, demand maintenance work order processing, inventory, and equipment tracking.
At the heart of ProTeus IV is its new Master Scheduler that takes maintenance work order scheduling to levels previously unattainable. With the Multi-Cycle Scheduling, end users receive enhanced scheduling calendar; easier preventative maintenance (PM) scheduling functionality; and simplified Resource Planning Management.
It allows a single master plan to be created for each asset that includes associated tasks at all desired intervals, including runtimes. Only the tasks applicable to the specific cycle will appear when the work order becomes active. Virtually any activation interval can be scheduled.
"There are a lot of schools, hospitals, institutions, plants, and related facilities that are losing what amounts to millions of dollars each year due to poor maintenance and reliability practices," says Harshad Shah, founder and president of Eagle Technology. "Fortunately, with a CMMS like ProTeus IV in place, these practices can be avoided by increasing the effectiveness of the maintenance department and improving equipment reliability."
"Eagle was founded in 1987 to help companies stay competitive through state-of-the-art maintenance and reliability improvement processes. To show how important this can be, a one percent improvement in reliability can result in hundreds of thousands of annual savings," he continues. "With more than 18 years experience developing maintenance software, we know how important proper maintenance can be to the bottom line."
ProTeus IV is based on our tried and proven ProTeus series with hundreds of applications, at work around the world. We develop our own programs, in-house, with improvements based on actual conditions that include; field-testing, laboratory trials, and direct customer input. There may be other CMMS on the market, but with ProTeus IV and its ability to meet exact needs, an end user can truly count on Eagle as his single source supplier for all his CMMS needs," Shah concludes.
From a simple system for a single user to a full-scale comprehensive application, Proteus offers these levels of functionality to meet a users exact needs:
ProTeus Expert—sophisticated maintenance management system for one to four users
ProTeus Professional—adds enhanced scheduling visibility and reporting capabilities
ProTeus Enterprise—multi-site capabilities, unlimited users, and enterprise server databases
Additional ProTeus IV features include Quick Lists (customizable column arrangement and width setting, retained for each user); Time Card (facilitates rapid entry of labor hours for all work orders): Budget Module (tracking of material and labor costs against monthly and/or yearly budgets): Multi-site (company-wide access to any ProTeus database in the network); Crystal Reports (lets users customize ProTeus reports); Emailable Work Orders (anywhere in the world); the Status Report (view critical information on the start-up screen); Certification Support (to facilitate compliance with certification authorities (ISO, FDA, OSHA, JCAHO, etc)); Global Support Capabilities (each facility can view and edit data using its own currency and language).
Eagle Technology offers optional models that greatly enhance the capability of ProTeus IV. These modules include Alarm Interface, Barcoding, Mobile Interface, Audit Trail, ERP Data Exchange Interface, Microsoft Project(tm) Interface, Service Requests From Any Computer, Browser Based Service Requests, PDF Attach and View, and Web Enablement for remote locations.
Eagle Technology uses SQL Server for industry leading database integrity that includes robust and scalable, increased security, validation, corrupt data prevention, and decreased possibility of duplicate records.
Founded in 1987, Eagle Technology was one of the first companies to offer computerized maintenance management software. Over the years the company has built an international reputation for its ability to provide flexible, comprehensive software solutions based on state-of-the-art, leading edge technology.
