Labconco Corporation of Kansas City, Mo., presents the new Protector ® XStream^TM Hood incorporating a patented (U.S. Patent No. 6,461,233) design and technology very different from any other safety ventilation system. Exclusive features include the curved air foil with innovative Clean-Sweep^TM openings, creating a constant, protective barrier from contaminants. The slotted baffle directs inflow air from the hood face to the baffle in non-turbulent laminar streams. A secondary baffle counteracts upward air streams that create airflow "roll" in traditional hoods.

The Upper Dilution Air Supply and perforated sash handle design enhance user protection and containment by introducing fresh air near the user's breathing zone and reducing chemical fume hood concentrations.

The hood performs equally well on either a constant volume or variable air volume system. Because containment is enhanced, the Protector XStream Hood can operate at a broad range of face velocities from 60 to 100 fpm to conserve energy without compromising safety. Exterior widths are available in 48, 60, 72, or 96 inches.
