Neiman Marcus Selects Silicon Energy's EEM Suite Technology Specialty Retailer to Better Control Costs and Reduce Risks NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NEIMAN MARCUS SELECTS SILICON ENERGY'S EEM SUITE* TECHNOLOGY -- Specialty Retailer to Better Control Costs and Reduce Risks Nationwide Using Enterprise Energy Management Software
ALAMEDA, Calif., (Oct. 24, 2000) - The Neiman Marcus Group Inc., one of the country's premier, upscale specialty retailers, has selected Silicon Energy's energy technology software - EEM Suite* - to better control costs and risks across its nationwide locations.
Neiman Marcus will use Silicon Energy's EEM Suite v2.0, including Data Analyst, Energy Analyst and Cost Analyst, along with Integrated Bill Management, to monitor energy usage and identify cost savings systemwide. Neiman Marcus also will use Silicon Energy's Utility Accountant software, along with its rate tariff functionality and content services, such as weather information, to pursue energy-related cost-reduction efforts. The integrated software will provide Neiman Marcus with Internet-enabled, real-time access to a variety of energy-related information across the organization.
Silicon Energy's technology will allow Neiman Marcus to collect precise load profile information nationwide and review up-to-date energy consumption profiles at any time. With this information, Neiman Marcus will be able to identify operational issues in an effort to prevent energy waste. It also will allow the renowned retailer to gather and store information that can be used in negotiations with utilities to procure energy at more favorable rates, especially in deregulated markets.
According to John Woolard, CEO of Silicon Energy, "Neiman Marcus is a welcome addition to Silicon Energy's growing list of national retailers. We expect that Neiman Marcus will be able to benefit from our energy technology software in a way that really impacts the bottom line. Because Silicon Energy will be handling metering as well as billing information for Neiman Marcus, we will be able to help the company take advantage of cost savings opportunities by keeping annual energy expenses in line with its budgets by managing ongoing cost and risk reduction opportunities."
About The Neiman Marcus Group The Neiman Marcus Group includes two specialty retail franchises, Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf Goodman - as well as Neiman Marcus Direct, the Company's direct marketing operation.
