The 347,000-sf, $200-million facility features 144 patient rooms, 18 ICU patient rooms, six surgical suites, and seven Level-1 and 21 Level-2 surgical recovery rooms. Family members and other caregivers have access to lounges, libraries, kitchens, family centers, and a variety of gardens both inside and outside the building.
The 600-sf surgical suites are equipped with laparoscopic and robotic instrumentation, advanced audio/visual information systems, ample room to accommodate an extensive surgical team and additional equipment, and have lighting and utilities suspended from the ceiling for added flexibility.
Diagnostic imaging tools include PET CT scanning, Gamma Camera diagnostics, CAT scanning, and MRI spectroscopy. The Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) provides physicians and clinicians with electronic access to X-rays, MRIs, and other radiology tests on computers strategically located throughout the hospital.
All patient rooms are private and are universally designed so that all monitoring and reporting equipment is located in the same place, expediting the medical staffs' response to patient needs. Located within direct line of sight of the nurses' station, no patient room is more than 13 feet from a station. Infection control alcoves provide clinicians with hand-washing stations, gowns, gloves, and other sterile equipment used to minimize the spread of germs to patients. Other infection-control measures include 99.99 HEPA filtration of outside air before it reaches the patients' rooms and an antimicrobial coating on all ductwork. Conference rooms, a wireless network, and a satellite pharmacy on each floor enhance the quality of care given to patients.
All support services including supply and utility rooms are housed in separate areas away from the patients. Private transportation corridors accessible only to patients and hospital staff provide an added level of privacy for the patients.
