The nexus of the laboratory building is a double-height drum lobby clad in corrugated aluminum siding. Each floor of the facility consists of a flexible light-filled lab block bound on one end by administrative areas and mechanical support on the other. Faculty and graduate student offices are directly opposite the lab block and face the courtyard.
Simple building shapes and finish materials were chosen to be compatible with the existing campus fabric. Precast concrete and corrugated aluminum siding blend with the campus and landscape context. The palette of green windows and wheat colored glass on the curtain wall echo the trees and fields surrounding the campus.
