Iowa State University
Iowa State University's 264,000-sf Engineering Teaching and Research Complex, designed to tie together the College of Engineering and the Institute for Physical Research Technology, consists of two three-story buildings connected by a skyway and a tunnel. The Research Complex houses offices, laboratories and specialized spaces for the department of aerospace engineering and engineering mechanics and the Iowa Center for Emerging Technologies. It also provides offices and high-technology instructional spaces, including distance learning facilities.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's new 433,000-sf Smith Laboratories facility includes generic laboratories for cancer research, animal research facilities, and office/support space. Two levels from the 13-story building accommodate tenant research space for neighboring Brigham & Women's Hospital. A 246-space underground parking structure and chiller plant are also part of the building.

State of Illinois Capital Development Board
Illinois State University's new $30 million science laboratory building in Bloomington-Normal, Ill., integrates the university's biology and chemistry departments to promote cross-fertilization between the programs while establishing a visual focal point for the university's science division. The 130,000-sf facility features technologies to better facilitate teaching in a laboratory environment.
