Williams College The existing science facilities at Williams College were housed in four separate buildings: three Thompson laboratories, circa 1893, and the Bronfman Science Center, circa 1968. One of the primary goals for this project was to increase the interdisciplinary nature of the science program at Williams by creating a unified science building. In doing so, it was important to respect the scale and quality of the main quad-the location of commencement ceremonies, and one of the most cherished places on the campus.
