Unexpected Fire Measures NBC Preparedness ProgramShortly before Brij Anand, former director of facilities operations and engineering at the National Broadcasting Company (NBC), was to present his company's recently completed disaster recovery plan at a 1997 Tradeline conference, he received an early morning phone call reporting that an electrical fire had broken out in a switchroom and spread via the building's wire closets. Instead of talking about NBC's plans for responding to a facilities crisis, Anand got to put the plan in motion.
