Life Sciences and Chemistry Buildings Linked by a Gateway to the Sciences Penn State University is bringing together chemistry and life sciences by constructing 339,000 sf of new research space in two conjoined buildings at its University Park campus. The Life Sciences Building, scheduled for completion in July, will house teachers and researchers from diverse disciplines, including plant biology, neuroscience, animal development, and molecular toxicology. The Chemistry Building, completed in December 2003, contains office, laboratory, and classroom space. The buildings are joined by a two-story glass-enclosed gateway that offers opportunities for the occupants of both buildings to interact and collaborate.
