Powell-Focht Bioengineering Building

University of California, San Diego
Completion of the Powell-Focht Bioengineering Hall is the first step in accommodating the growth and new vision of the Jacobs School of Engineering on the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) campus. By 2005, the Jacobs School plans to add seven new bioengineering faculty, bringing total faculty to 18, and increase enrollment up to 1,000 students.

In July 2004, ChevronTexaco (CVX) will begin the phased occupancy of a new 40-story office tower in downtown Houston. Originally built for Enron but never occupied, the 1.2-million sf building will accommodate 3,700 employees and contractors once occupancy is complete in mid-2005, consolidating CVX's Houston-area operations from seven buildings to three.

Anlyan Center for Medical Research and Education

Yale University
As part of a $500 million investment in Yale's School of Medicine, the new $176-million Anlyan Center offers more than 430,000 gsf of flexible laboratory, research, support, and office space for its biomedical research and teaching. Also known as 300 Cedar St., the new building features two wings reflecting its dual commitment to research and teaching, and is the largest building ever constructed at the School of Medicine.
