National Cancer Institute Renovation Nets BSL-3E Space for Vaccine Production

Upgraded Suite Maintains GMP Qualities While Satisfying Requirements for Select Agent Biosafety
In order to manufacture 1,000 doses of a promising new vaccine against a potential biological weapon agent and a disease with significant military importance, government contractor SAIC Frederick had to find space that could satisfy stringent biosafety requirements and still provide a clean manufacturing environment--two goals that are in some ways at odds. The solution involved turning 800 sf of space within an existing GMP facility into an enhanced BSL-3 suite (i.e. BSL-3E), enabling the company to ensure the safety of personnel and the surrounding community while protecting the vaccine against contamination during production.

Procter & Gamble Leverages Scale by Going Beyond Its Own Walls

Outsourcing Agreement Signals Shift in Business Structure
Slightly more than a year old, the outsourcing contract between Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Jones Lang LaSalle for bundled FM services is a win-win relationship for both parties--exactly what the consumer goods giant initially intended. On all fronts the agreement is living up to mutual expectations, from reducing costs without compromising service quality to spawning broader career opportunities for former P&G employees, all while allowing Jones Lang LaSalle to deploy resources to benefit its own bottom line.
