University of Nebraska Medical Center Goes Up for Research

Ten-Story Tower Has Generic Labs, Proprietary Casework
With its federally funded research programs rapidly multiplying, Omaha's University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is in the midst of a major expansion. By January the 116 laboratories in the school's new $77-million, 10-story Durham Research Center (DRC), completed in February 2004, will be fully occupied by a total of 55 principal investigators, several of whom have been newly recruited to the institution. A sister research facility housing 64 PIs is slated to come on line in October 2007.
