Neuroscience programs are on the rise and new vivarium design solutions are needed to increase researcher access to animal subjects and boost collaboration and interaction. Here you'll get an inside look at newly emerging "Vertical Vivarium" designs and features employed at the Indiana University School of Medicine Neuroscience Research Building to link research labs with behavioral testing and bring the vivarium to the researchers. Session leaders reveal post-occupancy findings from the animal care staff and researchers, detail the vivarium's floor-by-floor space program components and organization, identify lessons learned, and examine what works well and what could be improved.
