This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Integrated Capital Planning and indirectly to the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor of Finance and Resource Management. The Director of Capital and Space Planning is a member of the University Architect’s Leadership Team and leads a team responsible for the planning, management, allocation and documentation of space resources, the preparation of capital plans and the management of the capital improvement program (including capital project approvals and the Davis campus debt model). This position advises campus leadership on capital and space planning policy and funding and will serve on the Facilities, Operations and Administration Core Leadership Team.
The Capital and Space Planning (CSP) group is an integral part of Design and Construction Management which enables close collaboration with key professional resources to support rapid space analysis and studies, capital planning studies, and project initiation. Architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers, graphic designers and costs estimators are all directly available to CSP within the same office.
This, along with CSP’s direct collaboration with leadership in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management and Integrated Projects (a group focused on planning and implementing complex capital project initiatives) enable integrated interdisciplinary planning and implementation.
