Department Summary
The University of Oregon Police Department (UOPD) is a community oriented and trust based policing agency within the University of Oregon. Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to protect the campus community through use of proactive prevention and outreach strategies. Community Service Officers utilize community-oriented service and problem-solving techniques, and seek to routinely engage the community in programming aimed at identifying and reducing behavioral and criminal conduct that diminishes the quality of the academic experience.

In the conduct of their prescribed duties, Community Service Officers provide support to police patrol operations. Community Service Officers may act as first responders to medical emergencies occurring on campus property, issue parking citations, patrol campus and edge campus areas, secure university facilities, provide security for athletic and other campus events, supplement Communication and Emergency Response Center (CERC) coverage and other related duties.

Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED/equivalent.
One year of experience communicating with the public.

• This position will require a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain UO Driver's Certification.
• First Aid and CPR/AED training or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check that includes a psychological evaluation and a medical evaluation with a drug screening.

Salary: $15.04 - $22.34 per hour
